The Truman Park Blog is covering our favorite June Holidays in this post. Celebrate National Fresh Fruit and Vegetables Month, National Donut Day (June 2nd), National Corn on the Cob Day (June 11th), and International Yoga Day (June 21st) this month. Throw a party or two in your Largo, MD apartment before the month is through.

National Fresh Fruit and Vegetables Month

Why not head to your favorite farmers market near Largo, MD for fresh fruits and vegetables this month?  The Dutch Village Farmers Market is a great place to get fresh fruits, vegetables, meat, cheese, and more. Their official website states, “We take great pride in our many fresh foods and natural products. Check out our chocolate covered strawberries dipped fresh every day; and our homemade peanut butter made with no preservatives.” You can find all the natural products your heart could (and should) desire at the Dutch Village Farmers Market.

National Doughnut Day (June 2nd)

Head to your local Dunkin’ Donuts for a dozen of your favorite raspberry jelly or powdered donuts on June 2nd. If you’d prefer to make your own donuts, try making these Oreo donuts from Broma Bakery. Our favorite part of this donut recipe is the frosting. Use cream cheese, milk, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and crushed Oreos to make it.

National Corn on the Cob Day (June 11th)

Enjoy a delicious summer picnic on National Corn on the Cob Day. June 11th presents the perfect opportunity to head to your favorite park in Largo, fire up the grill, and enjoy a pleasant evening meal with friends. This Mexican street corn salad from Live Eat Learn might night be corn on the cob, but it sure is delicious.

International Yoga Day (June 21st)

Spend June 21st relaxing. Buy yourself a yoga mat, and read this helpful article Yoga for Everyone from The New York Times to get started. Yoga is a great way to strengthen your body, feel more centered, and relax.
